Moving & Shaking, Day 11

Moving: So, um…yea. I didn’t quite get around to moving today. I maybe should have done the pike press exercise like I had planned to, but now it’s getting late and I am about to pull an all-nighter with my 5 hour energy and finish up my midterms. Plus my feet are still really sore from breaking in my fivefingers. I clearly overdid it. I did get some exercise though, running around in celebration of Holi. Holi (aka the Festival of Colors) is an Indian holiday that celebrates the coming of Spring and all its colors, as well as commemorating good harvests and fertile lands. I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of it, because the way people celebrate it is to throw vividly colored and perfumed powder on each other. It smelled like roses, and it was so pretty. But I was definitely a hot, caked up mess after all was said and done. AND different parts of my body are stained with the powder with streaks of green, pink, and purple. Ah well. Shaking: Dandelions …

Moving & Shaking, Day 10

Moving: Morning Run – 2.68 mi. I was going to do my normal BodyRockTV workout afterwards but a) my feet were KILLING me, and b) I really needed to go ahead and go to school and do some work. But really, my insteps are a mess, I spent most of the day limping because my feet and ankles were tore up. I did ice them at night (with the only frozen thing in my freezer–strawberries, lol), and while they were somewhat numb they felt better. But I think they will still be a mess. Shaking: Collard/Spicy Green Berries 1 cup collard greens 1 cup spicy greens 1 cup blueberries 1 banana 1 cup strawberries 2 cups water ice 2 maca root tablets 1 guarana tablet I’m posting a picture of the “spicy” greens. If someone could please tell me what type of green they are, that would be great!

Moving & Shaking, Day 9

Moving: Booty Shaping Workout, 12 min COMMANDO PUSH UP (My reps: 10, 8, 8, 9, 11, 10) SQUAT & PUSH KICK (My reps: 11, 11, 11, 11, 13, 13) SINGLE KNEE TUCK (My reps: 11, 9, 11, 10, 11, 12) PLUS, I finally started running with my downstairs neighbor. We’re aiming to do a 10k in April (although, I’m not sure it’ll happen). We did a short little run, maybe a mile long, but I wore my Vibram Five Fingers for the first time. My calves and insteps are quite sore, but I know it will get better. The funniest part of it all was running in the park nearby that is also a bird sanctuary. There was bird poop EVERYWHERE and there were so many different types of birds–roosters, hens, geese, ducks, etc. etc. Shaking: Cilantro Spice Smoothie (this was VERY spicy btw) 1/2 bunch of cilantro 1 red bell pepper 1 habañero pepper 1 – 2 cups mango juice from 1 lime a bit of salt some honey ice 2 maca root tablets …

Moving & Shaking, Day 8

[34] Part 3 is the same as Part 1.  Shaking: Endive/Fennel 2 cups endive 3 collard green leaves 2 cups water 1 handful of fennel fronds 1 1/2 cups of pineapple, strawberry, kiwi (combined) juice of 1/2 lemon honey chia seeds 2 maca tablets Parsley Passion 1 – 2 cups parsley 1/4 cucumber 2 small gala apples 1 banana 2 cups water a couple inches of ginger ice

Moving & Shaking, Day 7

Moving: Push Back 250 Rep Exercise Challenge Squat & Leg Lift: 250 Reps (My time = 14:07) Shaking: Spicy Smoothie 2 cups water ½ cup mango ½ cup blackberries 1 banana Juice of ½ lemon ½ cup cilantro ¼ cucumber 1 – 2 cups spicy greens (I don’t know the actual name of the greens I have, but they’re spicy, large leafy greens that are spotted dark purple) Honey Ice Chia seeds 2 maca root tablets 1 guarana tablet I didn’t realize how spicy these greens were until I used them in a large quantity. I had put some of these greens in another smoothie but clearly not enough. This was difficult to drink quickly because it was so spicy and burned my tummy. But it was still good. In the pictures below, you can kind of see the “spicy green” I used. It’s on the left side in the container next to the collard greens.
